How to read this report

FII/DII cash is the net buy/sell value of foreign (FII/FPI) and domestic (DII) institutions in the NSE cash market. FII index-futures net-long is (long − short) ÷ (long + short) of FII index-futures open interest — the cleanest read on how foreign desks are positioned directionally. Bulk & block deals are large trades NSE requires to be disclosed with the counterparty named — the only place you see who traded, not just how much.

FAQ

How often is this report updated?

Every NSE trading session, after the official close, once exchange archives publish the day's FII/DII, participant OI and bulk/block deal files.

What does "FII net sold" mean for the market?

It means foreign institutions were net sellers in the cash market over the window. Whether it moves the index depends on whether domestic institutions (DIIs) absorbed the selling — which this report shows side by side.

Where does the data come from?

Public NSE exchange archives and regulatory disclosure filings — the same primary sources the exchange publishes, aggregated and interpreted by Strota.
