Privacy Policy
How Strota handles the (very small amount of) information it collects when you use the site.
Who we are
Strota is a free, public dashboard tracking institutional money flow in Indian markets at strota.in. We do not require accounts, logins, or registrations of any kind to use the site.
What we collect
Because Strota has no login or user account system, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifying information from users.
Our web server logs the following technical metadata for every request, as is standard for any website:
- The IP address of the requesting client
- The page or resource requested (the URL path)
- The HTTP user agent string (e.g. browser name and version)
- The time of the request
- The HTTP status returned
These logs are used for operational purposes — debugging, security, abuse mitigation, and basic traffic measurement. They are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically.
Cookies and local storage
Strota does not currently set any cookies of its own. The site uses browser localStorage only for a small number of strictly functional purposes — for example, remembering your preferred display options across visits. No identifiers are stored that could link your activity across sites.
Strota is enabling Google AdSense. The AdSense tag is now present on the site for verification and ad setup; ad units are not yet displayed, but once ads begin serving, Google and its advertising partners may set their own cookies subject to their own policies. Strota does not currently use affiliate links. We will display a cookie-consent banner where required once ads go live.
Third-party services we use
Strota fetches market data from public sources. We do not share your personal information with these services; we only fetch their public data on your behalf:
- Official exchange archives — F&O participant data, end-of-day market data, bulk and block deals, insider/promoter filings, NIFTY indices
- Third-party market data feeds — live stock prices, sector indices, macros, earnings, news headlines
- Live broker quote feeds — intraday quotes during market hours (server-side, authenticated as the site operator, not as you)
- Secondary live-quote feeds — fallback intraday pricing
- Telegram Bot API — used by the site operator to post daily summaries to a public channel; does not interact with site visitors
- Cloudflare (if proxied) — DNS and CDN edge for the site
- Railway — the platform Strota's servers run on
Your rights under Indian law
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) grants you several rights regarding personal data held about you. Because Strota does not collect personal data, most of these rights have nothing to act on, but for completeness:
- Right to know — what personal data is held about you (in Strota's case, none beyond temporary server logs)
- Right to correction — to have inaccurate data corrected
- Right to erasure — to ask for deletion of data we hold about you
- Right to grievance redressal — to raise a complaint about how data is handled
For any such request, contact us via the methods listed in the Contact section below. We will respond within 30 days as required by law.
Children
Strota is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Trading in equity derivatives is restricted by SEBI regulation to adults, and minors should not be using this site.
Security
Strota is served over HTTPS. Server logs are kept on access-controlled infrastructure. We follow standard security hygiene appropriate to a non-account-based website.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when we change how Strota handles data. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced via the site's home page banner for at least 30 days.
